Christmas Time

Howdy to all of our friends!!
Since I last blogged.... Sky and I have moved from Idaho Falls back to Rigby. And we are loving every second of it. We were put in the nursery at church, and its sometimes a challenge, but we love interacting with the kids each week. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and we hope you all did as well. Then came the time to put up the christmas tree!!! I was SOOO excited to finally have my own tree to decorate and put presents under. I love the smell of it, and I love the lights.
Christmas time is one of my very favorite holidays, not only for the presents and fun, but for the meaning. It gives me time to reflect on what I have, and makes me even more thankful than before for the blessings and knowledge I have been given in my lifetime.
I know this is short, But I will write more next time. Have a Very Merry Christmas and enjoy
your Holiday activities!

UPDATE!

ok.. so i've been really bad about this whole blogging thing... and I appologize! But YES!! we are FINALLY married! and we absolutely love it! it is the best thing ever!! It happened on July 17th.. and it was the best day of our lives!! As of right now... I am working at Yellowstone Do It Center in Rigby... and Sky is working for his dad running 3 different crews and putting in a ton of hours.. He is working nights remodeling the Ammon and Blackfoot Walmarts, and then working hours during the day. It is a good thing for him.. but I hate being away from him as much as I am, but I know in the long run its ok and totally worth it. It is helping us come closer together, so its good! I just keep thinking of the positive each day, and that is what keeps me going! Also, we've been told we're doing things a little backwards... Newlyweds usually spend every waking second together the first few months.. then they deal with being away from each other more and more as time goes on.. well... We started being away from each other pretty much every night about a week after our wedding.. so hopefully when the walmarts are done.. we'll be able to spend more time together! And I am most definately looking forward to it!! I am planning to start school in January at Evans Beauty College. It has been a life long dream of mine, since I grew up with it in my house as my mom did the same thing! So its a hobbie of mine and I love it! Also, we just got put in the nursery in our ward (As per request of some parents...) and we are enjoying each moment of that as well... We really appreciate all the love and support of our family and friends... Its been great!

We finally got the announcements in the mail last night.. and that is such a relief!! We just wanted to thank all those who have been supported and offered their help and love to us all!! we really appreciate it!! We hope to see lots of you there in 2 weeks at the reception!! its in my neighbors back yard.. so pretty much just right behind my house from 6 to 8:30!! so your all invited!! We cant wait for 2 weeks. its such a great feeling to know that we're going to be sealed for time and all eternity to the love of our life!!

UPDATE!

ok... I have been extremely bad about this whole blogging thing. I have slacked off for over a month!! ahh... So here is the last little while in review....

As you know.. Skylar and I are getting married!! We finally set a date that worked for both families, since they are both super busy this whole summer.. We picked July 17th!! In the Rexburg Temple! And it is SET!! We are sooo EXCITED!!! I can hardly wait to enter the temple for the first time.. I am anxious to have the feeling of peace come over me and feeling the spirit sooo strong is what I want! After finally getting the date set and reserved at the temple, we started the wedding planning!! After months and months of looking for a dress.. I finally found it at Margene's. The funny thing is, is that the dress I bought isn't even close to what I imagined wearing on my wedding day! But, apparently thats how it works for alot of girls is what the girls at Margene's told me. After the stress of the dress, we picked out Sky's tux. But, guys are so easy going that it was easy for us to accomplish that part of planning. We then moved on to deciding what the brothers and sisters are going to wear.! We found shirts and ties at JCPenny for the brothers, and my amazing grandma is going to make the skirts for the sisters! I am sooo excited to see the final result! My grandma is truly amazing at everything she does! I love her to death! Then we decided that the dads will have matching ties with the brothers, and the moms can wear whatever they would like, as long as they are in the c olors!! :) Then we moved on to picking out flowers! We are having Floral Classics do them! And they have been soo good to work with us on what we want and giving us their opinion on whether or not our ideas will look good! But, we just finalized all the flowers and its going to be stunning! We have started on the center pieces for the reception! Which are going to be sooo fun! Its going to be a very enjoyable project to work on! Thanks to Skylar, he has helped alot with those! Thanks to Cari Webb for taking our engagement pictures! They are awesome! And we had a blast taking them! She is great at what she does, and its even more fun because she knows us both and she knows our personalities! As for the rest of the wedding plans, they are coming along! We have tons of ideas, now we just have to put them into action! It has been a stressful road, and the stress isn't over! And thanks to the dads and skylar for being patient with the girls and our stress levels!! :) I will be so glad when the planning is over! Huge thanks goes out to my own mother whom I adore and love with all my heart, and also to Amy, the best future mother-in-law a girl could ask for. They have both been patient with us and willing to jump on something that needs done! Thanks guys for all your help!! I know its long... but this has been pretty much our lives for the past couple of months! We can't wait for July 17th to be here - and we are praying for good sunshine weather!!

?Winter? or ?Spring?

This is at about 1 p.m on April 15, 2009!!! Can you believe it?! SNOW!! I thought it was SPRING!?!? ... I must be wrong!

A tree outside my office.... with snowThe sidewalk... and some trees... its crazy! you cant even see the grass!

The snowflakes were GIGANTIC!! It was soooo crazy!

this is about 6 pm the same day.. its off the trees and starting to go away!!

the same tree outside my window.. snow... gone.!

THEN.... all of a sudden it started snowing about 9:30 pm.. and went for most of the night.. and this is what we ended up with!

Snow on the Morning of April 16th. There was soooo much!!

you can see how much snow we got over night...

The tree outside the door... the snow was weighing it down so much!

This tree had just blossomed with cute pink and white flowers about 2 days .. and now they are dead.. poor things

You can see how the snow was sooo heavy.. it was weighing down sooo many branches...
and sooo many of them were broken off the tree and in the road.. it was one crazy night!

So being the crazy people we are, chelsie (a girl i work with), and i went and acutally measured the snow... it is a whopping 10 inches... WOW!

What a crazy last couple of days... Sunshine.. High temps... Rain.. and then the next thing you know we end up with snow covered cars, roads, and yards. But its bound to get better!

!~EaStEr 2009~!

Easter this year was a blast! The weather was GREAT!! I went up to Sugarhouse (Which is part of SLC) to my friend Stephanie's house for dinner!! I made a jell-o salad and made a bunny head on top with marshmallows!! it was sooo cute.. and delicous!! We had pot roast, potatoes, carrots, salads, cobbler, brownies, cheesecake, rice krispie treats, and much more!! it was SOOOO YUMMY!!! After dinner me and steph hopped on the piano and serendaded everyone with our skills! and one of the other guys, (I don't remember his name) played his guitar!! haha It wasn't as good as you think, but it was fun! Then we had dance lessons by "YOSEF"!! haha his real name is joseph, but since there are 2 of them, we altered his name! That was hilarious to watch them dance! After the dancing ceased, me and steph walked to the park that is around the corner.. and there we had fun!! as some of the pictures explain!! yes, we are dorks! but we love it!! and we have come to the conclusion that being the dorks we are- make us who we are today! we just have to love life! I met a lot of great people that day! and especially Kim - Stephs friend. She has inspired me to look on the positive side of life everyday no matter what. She has been thru the unbearable and you wouldn't have any idea what she is dealing with unless someone told you. You would think her life was just grand. Thanks Kim for being an inspiration to sooo many people with your faith and happiness!! Overall, Easter was great! (except I didn't get to see my family) ! But it was good! I can't wait till next Easter!!!

Easter!

So on my way to work this morning, traffic was AWFUL... I'm pretty sure Utah is big on the whole Easter Egg Hunts. Just a little FYI.. In Salt Lake City, there is an Easter Egg hunt with over 20,000 eggs put on by American Family Insurance and the Jazz. WOW!! that is soooo many eggs!! It takes a lot of people to put that on! So I'm sure SLC traffic was a lot worse than Orem. But the Hunt in Orem is literally right down the road from my work.. and there were kids EVERYWHERE with their bags, bucket, and baskets! they were all pretty cute and ready to get the candy and eggs. I miss those days when I went to the City of Menan Easter Egg Hunt. Hopefully my mom will save me my easter basket and not let the siblings get into it!!! Lets all remember the real meaning behind the easter season and that its not all about the candy, or dying eggs. Lets remember our Savior. And what he did for us. Let us all be thankful with all our hearts for the Resurrection. He did it for us, please don't take it for granted.
HAPPY EASTER EVERYBODY!!! :]

eNgAgEd!~ and LOVING it!!

On Christmas Eve 2008 we were at Skylars house for the Thompson family Christmas Eve get together. We were playing with all of the cousins and joking around with his aunts and uncles. His mom then asked him to run to the store for her to get some more crackers for the cheese ball she had just made. (It was delicious!!) She said she didn't think she had enough. So he told me to get my coat and we'd run to the store.. I kept asking myself where in the world we were going to get crackers this time of night (It was like 6 or 7) on Christmas Eve. But I went. He asked me to drive since the "dirtymax" was blocked in. So we hopped in my car and headed for good ole Broulims in Rigby. When we got the end of his subdivision where we had to turn left or right, I went to turn right, and he told me to go left. At this point I was extremely confused.... But I went along with it and just gave him funny looks. We played the "game" where I drove, and he told me where and when to turn. I'm pretty sure we wasted half a tank of gas and he got some really confused looks from me. After the long drive around.. we headed for Hwy 20. Headed Northbound. He told me to get off on the 1st Rexburg exit. Again.. I was confused because the grocery stores are all after the 2nd exit!! But I did as he said. Before I knew it we ended up in front of the Rexburg Temple.!!! It was a cold and snowy night... with an "Idaho" breeze!! It was then and there that he told me he wanted to take me there and spend the rest of his life with me. Of course I totally and completely agreed!!! After basking in the moment and taking it all in, he jumped in and said we had to hurry and get the crackers for his mom.!! All of the driving around made no sense to me and I am still confused to this day about it!! But we headed for Broulims in Rexburg to grab the crackers his mom had said she just "HAD" to have, and headed back to his house.. That was the best Christmas Eve I've had!! I am sooo excited to get married!! We are thinking July 10th.. but I will keep you all posted!!

Seniors '08

Now we have reached that time in our lives where we enter the last year of high school. We have dreamed of this day most of our lives. I was so excited to be out of high school!! And so was every one else in the class of 2008!! At the beginning of our senior year, I was dating a kid from the little town of Parker. (For those of you who don't know... it's a tiny little town located west of St. Anthony and close to the Sand Dunes) Then came October 22nd. I got a text saying "Hey! Whats up?" I had no idea who it was, so I responded asking who it was. I received a text back informing me it was Skylar Thompson. I was shocked. I had seen him a couple of times here an there but hadn't talked to him since the harvest ball our junior year. We started talking and I asked him why he decided to text me randomly. He replied, "I honestly still haven't gotten over you since 7th grade, and every time I see you at Yellowstone Do It Center working, I get the chills and I always ask myself what I would do to get you back." WOW... is all I had to say. I was speechless. I wasn't sure what to think, much less how to respond to that. So then I'm sure I said something stupid, but he asked me if we could hang out sometime. Uh... I had a boyfriend... would that be considered cheating?!? I didn't think so, since my boyfriend couldn't hang out that night anyway, so I told him I would hang out that night.. but that was it. Nothing more. Again- little did I know what the future was going to bring. So I went over to his house and we just chilled for the night. During our talking that we did, Skylar asked me when I was going to break up with the boyfriend I had. He tried to convince me to do it, but I told him no. I will be honest, I really felt bad that I was hanging out with Skylar over my boyfriend. But it really got me thinking over the next couple days. And then... on October 24th, I broke it off with my boyfriend from Parker. And regardless of what you all may think- including Skylar, I didn't break if off just so I could be with Skylar, in fact, I had no intentions of hooking up with anyone after that for a while. The following Sunday I headed to Boise for my state newspaper convention. While I was there, Skylar and I talked day in and day out, just like we were old friends. I came back on that Tuesday and it was Halloween. And, of course, I went to Skylar's house for the party. But I am pleased to inform you, that nothing happened that night, and we didn't hook up. But..... 10 days after I broke up with my last guy, on November 4th, 2007, Skylar asked me to be his girlfriend again.. this time it was over the phone that night, and not in a note... we're improving on the people skills by now!! And yes.. I told him I'd think about it. So we kept talking and then right before we hung up... I told him yes.. I would be his girl friend. After that night, we were inseparable. Our parents had to fight us to keep us away from each other for a night. The days and months went by and it was finally graduation!! We had finally made it to the day we looked forward to from the time we were little!! On May 21, 2008, Skylar picked me up and we headed up to BYU-I for graduation. On the way up.. he handed me a shoe box that was wrapped. He told me I had to open it right away. So I did. Inside I found another box, wrapped. So I unwrapped that one as well. Inside was a ring box. I looked at him and gave him the "what is this?" look. He told me to just open it and tell me what I thought of it. So I did. Inside was a promise ring!! I LOVE IT!!! I put it on and I refused to take it off!!! It is sooo pretty!!! I still couldn't believe that he got it for me.. It was awesome tho. Then we walked across the stage and received our diplomas and had the best feeling ever.. knowing that we had accomplished a great task that lead to us GRADUATING!!! It was sooo awesome!!! That night was the all night party... it was a blast as well! Then for the next few days, my life was spent packing. I was headed off to New York the beginning of June to be a nanny. Skylar wasn't very happy about it and it was hard for both of us to say good bye. But still... we talked day in and day out while I was gone. It was one of the hardest summers of my life.! But we stuck together and I'm glad we did. When I returned, (another one of those happiest days!!) I ended up living in Orem, Utah. (Where I currently live, but getting ready to move home.) I love this kid to death. We have been through soooo much more than we would have liked to.. but we have stuck by each others sides thru it all. Unfortunately, our relationship has been long distance since June 08, (please don't feel bad) and I don't recommend it to anyone! lol.. Its been a challenge, but we've grown so much from it. But it will get better!! I know it will!! Ü

Junior Year Harvest

Now we have reached our jr year in high school. We are growing up in the world, and becoming some of the "cool kids" in town. That October was our girls choice Harvest Ball. I had no idea who I was going to ask. My friend Dani gave me the "bright" idea of asking Mr. Skylar Thompson. Yeah right. Like I was going to do that. I hadn't spoken to him in over a year, and he probably hated me cuz I broke up with him twice, so why would I even attempt to take him on a date?! But, I took her advice and asked him. We thought of a creative way to ask him, and pursued it. About 4 days later, he answered me, and his answer was yes! I was so excited! We planned the date, made the shirts, and had an absolute blast!! Then, after that night had ended.. so did the talking...

Jr. High Crush

Again, we were sitting in class, In Mr. Johnson's history class to be exact. Now, in 9th grade, the cool thing was to have a "tablet" that you passed, instead of passing notes. Who knows why? It was just what we did. So he started a "tablet" one day and we talked constantly- which was a bit weird, considering we hadn't talked at all since the 7th grade. I'm pretty sure that we got it taken away a few times- who knows how many, but we didn't care. Then, the same 'ole routine... he "asked me out" again. And.. once again- I told him I'd think about it... But this time I had an answer quicker. I told him yes during the next class we had together. And again, we were boyfriend/girlfriend. This time around it lasted a little bit longer than it did in 7th grade. We met up after drivers ed, at basketball games, football games, etc. We were so close to being 16 that we figured we would attempt to get together outside of school activities. We planned to go to the festival of lights that Christmas with his family. But... the idea was shot down by both parents when we asked. All because they thought it was a "date", but we completely disagreed with them. Then, sadly enough, Skylar went to Cali over Christmas, and that meant no talking on the phone for 2 weeks while he was gone. I hated life then. Finally he came back and the second he got home he called me to tell me he was safely back in Rigby and that he missed me. Then the next day... He tried calling me at about 8am. I was really confused with the fact that he was calling me in the morning rather than later that night. But I answered it when I said hello, he told me he was out front. WHAT?!?! I thought. This can't be happening. I am still in bed, I look like crap, and its 8am on Christmas break. I should still be sleeping. But that was the least of my worries.. I hurried and threw some "OK" clothes on and went to answer the front door. He was literally right outside my house when he called. I let him inside and he handed me my Christmas present. I opened it slowly so I could savor the moment of having my boyfriend in my house! ha ha- yes, I know.. cheesy, but that's how I felt then. He had gotten me stuff from Disneyland for Christmas. I loved it!! And.. to this day, I still have part of it!! It was a great Christmas.. We won't mention what I got him... needless to say, it wasn't near as good as the stuff from Disneyland. 9Th grade was great! But, after a while, I got sick of having a boyfriend because I wanted to "hang out" and talk to other boys. I wanted to explore other guys for a while. So, yes.. I broke if off this time as well. (Actually, it was more like my friend running in the cafeteria yelling at Skylar, making sure he understood that I didn't want to be his girlfriend anymore... Sorry for embarrassing you babe) And, of course, he was devastated again. And, just like last time, we didn't talk the rest of the year....

How it all started -

So sitting in Mrs. Kaspers math class one day in the 7th grade Skylar passed me a note... telling me that we should be friend, yes-it was the "thing" to do at that age. Notes were like the coolest thing in the world when we were in 7th grade. I wrote back and said "OK" on it and sneakily passed it back. Little did I know that day that bigger and better things were to come out of that note. We finally realized that we actually had all of our classes together, except for one. That gave us the opportunity to talk more and more. We got to know each other and became pretty good friends. Then one day, it dawned on us that we had the "middle school crush" on each other. Over the next couple days I would talk to my friends about it and we were all so giggly about it, you know how middle school aged girls are about boys, we couldn't help ourselves, we talked about boys (especially Skylar) from then on. Then one day, again, in Mrs. Kaspers class, Skylar passed me another note. This time it said..."Do you want to go out with me?" I was speechless. I wasn't sure what to say back. And I'm sure that the look on my face was priceless. I wrote back telling him I'd think about it (meaning I had to consult the girls) and let him know by the end of the day. Once again, he gave me that same smile in acknowledgement that he had given me when we "officially" became friends.
As soon as I told my girl friends about "the note", they, in unison, said "why wouldn't you?". Right then and there I had my answer. So I wrote Skylar a note back and told him I would "Go out with him." (aka.. be his girlfriend). As soon as school was let out, I hurried to find him to give the note to him. He read it right then and there and then, again, he smiled. We exchanged numbers before getting on the bus to go home and planned that he would call me sometime that night. At the time, it was the best day of our lives. As I walked in the door from getting off the bus, my mom so sweetly asked how my day was. All I could say was, "It was great!!" (of course with the "I'm up to something" smile. Then of course, moms aren't as stupid as we think they are. She knew something was going on, so she simply asked, "Why the smile?"... I just thought about it- then she had to ask again because I didn't answer her the first time. ..... whoops!! I thought... I'm not supposed to have a boyfriend... I'm not 16 yet.. Should I tell my mom??!!? What do I tell her?? lol... then I just told her it was a really good day at school, and all of my classes were fun. ;) Later that night, as promised, I recieved a phone call!! Uh Oh!! Dad answered it... He handed me the phone asking why "a boy" was calling me. I make the mistake of telling him he was "just a friend from school". Like my dad is going to believe that. I was busted!!! I took the phone and ran off to my room to talk to Skylar. When I hung up I took the phone back to where it belongs and my face was as red as Hot Tamales!! From that day on, I got crap from the family, the neighbors, and everyone else that knew. But... I didn't care, because I had a boyfriend!! We were cool kids now!! haha... So after that we talked every night on the phone, and met up at the football and basketball games as much as we possibly could. Then the 3rd trimester of the school year came... to me it seemed tragic-I didn't have ONE class with Skylar. How in the world was I going to cope? So.. I decided to dump him. Just out of no where, I broke up with him. He was heart broken, and his friends all hated me for it. But, life went on. After the 7th grade fling, we didn't speak to each other for the rest of the school year...
